The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad was founded on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th, 1941 and this year marks our 74th anniversary of service to the residents of Clark and its visitors. While many physical aspects of our volunteer Emergency Squad have changed over the years, our commitment to helping you, our neighbors, remains steadfast. However, the cost of providing our service free to all has changed considerably.

The dramatic increase in the cost of utilities, protective equipment, clothing, medical supplies and general maintenance for our vehicles and our over 50-year-old building exacts a toll on our finances. The volunteers, who answer your call in times of need, also donate their time to maintain the building, host fundraisers, and to provide standby services at high school football games, parades, memorials, and other Township events. We know some are finding these times more difficult than others and we sincerely appreciate any contribution you are able to make.

Many of Clark's neighboring communities, such as Rahway, Linden, and Cranford PD charge their patients close to $400 per ambulance call. Not all of these charges are covered by insurance. The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad answers over 1,600 calls annually and is dedicated to maintaining our 74-year tradition of providing the citizens of Clark the highest quality professional emergency medical care-FREE OF CHARGE. To keep this tradition going, we absolutely must have your help. Please consider giving generously-our community depends on us, and we depend on you.

We thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Men and Women of the Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad
